Think Kayak have generously donated a Think EVO II surf ski which will be raffled and 25% of the proceeds donated to two local charities, Plastic Free Seas, and the Pacsafe Turtle Fund.
Tickets are HK$100 ea and are available for purchase from the race committee. Tickets will also be on sale at the registration event and on race day. The draw will take place on race day after the prize giving ceremony.

This year we are very pleased to announce that the APA Outdoor Shop is continuing their Dragon Run sponsorship. In addition to sponsoring prizes for local paddlers, they are also providing all competitors with sunscreen and delicious snack bars.

RACE DETAILS

Surfski and Outrigger Registration and Briefing:
Registration will be confirmed soon and race pack collection and the briefing will take place on Friday 11th November, the day before Race Day.
Collection and briefing will be held in the gymnasium at the Sea School in Stanley starting from 5:00pm, with the briefing starting at 7:30pm. The Sea School is located at the bottom of Hoi Fung Path in Stanley. (Go to http://maps.google.com and search for “Hong Kong Sea School, Stanley” to find a map and directions of how to find the School.)

SUP Registration and Briefing:
Pre-Registration: Email Robert Sherriff at hksupa@netvigator.com with your name, tel #, board make and length, and whether you wish to compete in the Elite (8km) race (open to 12-6 and 14′ categories only) or the Open (3.5km) race (open to Surf, 12-6, 14′ and Unlimited Categories).
RACERS will be able to register online soon and collect there race pack on Friday 11th November at the Stanley Sea School, starting 5pm. There will also be a short briefing at 7pm. If for whatever reason you cannot be present, please arrive at Tai Tam Tuk at 8.30am PROMPTLY to Register
NOTE: All competitors must have paid $500, completed a race waiver form and have a number written clearly on their left arm or leg before being allowed to race. The race briefing will take place at 9:30am at Tai Tam Tuk with a 10:00am (PROMPT) RACE START. Please be ready at the race start at least 15 minutes before the start time. At 12noon there will be the SUP Race Medal Ceremony for all the categories for both Elite and Open races. Elite winners’ Dragon Run SUP trophies, however, will be given at 2.30pm with the surf ski and outrigger awards.
The length of the SUP races are as follows: Elite Race: 8km. Short / beginners race: 3.5km – 4.5km depending on wind direction / speed. Leg leashes and PFDs are MANDATORY
Cost: HK$500 including lunch BBQ at Stanley Sea School. Families can also pay HK$100 separately to join the BBQ

Leashes & Lifejackets: Wearing of leg leashes and Lifejackets /PFD is MANDATORY.

Transportation – Skis/OCs:
Both the long and short course races will finish at the Sea School in Stanley. The trucks which will be used to transport the skis/OC’s to the starting point of the long course race (Clearwater Bay Beach) will leave from the Sea School at between 7:30am and 8am. All long course paddlers must ensure that their ski/OC gets to the Sea School by no later than the Friday night before race day. There will be racks erected in the main car park at the back of the Sea School for use during the week prior to the race and paddlers training from the Sea School or delivering their skis/OCs to the Sea School should use these racks. We require all paddlers to load their own skis/OCs onto the trucks at the Sea School on race day and then to unload their skis/OCs at the race start in Clearwater Bay. The loading at the Sea School will start at 7am. Straps/ties will be provided.

Transportation – Skis/OC Paddlers:
Buses for the long course paddlers will leave from the Sea School for the race start at Clearwater Bay Beach at between 7:30am and 8am. A secure place will be available at the Sea School for paddlers to leave their race bags. We will aim to start the long course race at 10am.

Sponsor Branding:
Paddlers will be provided with stickers featuring the logos of our event sponsors and will be required to affix these stickers (along with separate race numbers) onto the foredeck closest to the footwell on their ski/OC.

Post-race:
Once you get to the finish, there will be a crew of volunteers to help you wash and rack your ski/OC. Changing rooms and showers will be available for paddlers. The post-race “party” and awards ceremony will take place at the Sea School (gymnasium area) following the finish of the long course race. Food and drinks will be provided by one of our race sponsors, Jaspas, throughout the afternoon, and we will look to start the awards ceremony at around 2pm. The party is open to all short and long course race contestants on a complimentary basis. Guests are also welcome for a small charge of HK$100 per person.

SAFETY MESSAGE: The use of life jackets/PFDs and leg leashes will be compulsory.
